Det Norske Veritas, Netherlands, a constituent of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) audited the system, procedures and processes of Crescent Engineering College. As recognition of compliance with its requirements, DNV certified Crescent Engineering College on September 17, 2001 for establishing and implementing the Quality Management system for various processes such as Admission, Education Realisation, Laboratory, Library, Office, Hostel, Transport and Training and Placement applicable to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science and Business Administration.
n the modern era, where professional education has reached the doorstep of every individual, it is mandatory that an institution has to develop a Quality Conscious System of Technical Education where excellence, relevance to market needs and participation by all stake holders are prime and major determinants. ISO 9001 2000 certification has special significance in designing and documentation of procedures for establishing processes and implementing quality systems. This helps to streamline the processes and procedures, which facilitates the strengthening of the system internally. The new ISO 9001-2000 version envisages reduction in the amount of documentation with greater orientation towards continual improvement and customer satisfaction.
In order to get assured quality conformance to good practices and benchmarks of global requirements, Crescent Engineering College, (sponsored by All India Islamic Foundation in 1984), has taken a leap forward, by getting ISO 9001-2000 certification for the institution. All the faculty members and staff with the guidance of the Heads of the departments, Principal and Management have put in a lot of efforts for more than a year to meet the requirements of the ISO standards.
Dr.I.Mohammed Bilal, Professor & Head, Department of Chemistry is the Management Representative (MR) for ISO 9001-2000 to coordinate the activities.
A committee consisting of the following faculty members helped Dr.I.Mohammed Bilal, MR in designing the QMS Manual: |
