2. Best Student Projects

1) Development of polyaniline based in – situ conducting nano composites by M/s S.Nirmala, T.J.Asker Ali, B.Mukthiar Basha and B.N.karthick . 2003- 2004.

The same project after completion of the work was presented by the students in the seminar organized by TNSCST at American college, Madurai and bagged I prize during Sep17-18, 2004.

2) Development of fire resistant / flame retardant fibre reinforced plastic for roofing application by M/s Sabitha Devi, R.Sheela Ramani, R Senthil kumar and D Durai babu, 2004-2005.

The project details have been handed over to M/s Urbane Industries, Chennai.

This project was presented in the seminar organized by TNSCST during 19-20, Aug, 2005 at Oxford Engineering College, Trichy and bagged I prize.

3) Synthesis and characterization of fire retardant polyimide nano coatings by M/s AshokP Raja , Abdul Haleem and Rahul –2007-2008.

(i) Association of Polymer Technologist (APT)

 

As a part APT the following activities are carried out

  • Guest lectures by eminent persons from academic institutions and industries in latest topics of polymers.
  • In plant training in polymer industries for 3 days to 1 week during the summer and winter vacation.
  • In-house Seminars for II, III & IV year students in every semester for Participation and presentation of all the students in recent trends in Polymer Technology.
  • Student members plan , organize and conduct ‘Cresmer’, National level symposium every year for participation of students from other colleges and institutions.
  • Participation in competitions and seminars organized by other institutions and obtain various prizes.
  • Release of quarterly magazine “Polylinks” by the student members.
