The library has 47,800 volume of books in 20,062 titles on different disciplines covering all major fields of Engineering, Science and Humanities. The Library subscribes 889 National & International periodicals including IEEE, ACM, ASME, ASCE & Springer publications. The library is also having Educational Audio & Video Cassettes, CD ROMs, Back Volumes, Project Reports, Thesis reports etc. Apart from the central library each department is maintaining one department library effectively. A number of Text guides are available in reference section (to equip oneself) for competitive exams like GATE, Civil Service Exam, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, Defence Service exam.

The Central library is a member of INDEST-AICTE Consortium. Through this consortium, it subscribes e- Journals viz. IEL Online, ACM, ASME, ASCE, Springer Journals etc.

The library information could be accessed by the members via Internet through a customer friendly web system called as electronic student relation management system' (eSRM). It could be reached through the official web site of the college http://www. crescentcollege.org.

The IEEE student branch (of BSACEC which has won global awards) is very active in this college. IEEE Transaction & Magazines with some collection of back volumes are kept in a separate series in the periodical section.

The library publishes a bulletin called as “Crescent News” once in three months. This quarterly bulletin encompasses information about R&D News, Paper published/presented by staff & students, Conference/Seminar/Workshop attended and conducted by staff & students, Academic section activities, IIPC activities, Higher studies, Industrial visit, Placement details, Sports & Library activities etc.,

The central library Awards one additional membership card to the topper in University exams, per student, per class as a token of appreciation of their academic achievements.

To strengthen the campus placement activity of BSACEC, the central library has established a personality development center (PDC) inside the library premises. Books & Periodicals related to communication skill development, aptitude & attitude improvement, Computer systems with multimedia facilities, educational audio & video cassettes/CD-ROM, are made available in the Central Library.

As per the directions of Government of Tamil Nadu, the library has got a book bank scheme exclusively for the SC/ST students. The students can avail four additional books for a semester apart from their regular library cards.

Annual Book exhibition is being organized by the central library in the college campus. Top 15 Engineering & other book publishing companies do take part in the annual event. The staff & student community of BSACEC can have an access to the latest collections on various topics. Organization of Seminar / Workshop.

The Central Library organized a two-day Workshop on “Digital Library initiatives using Dspace & GSDL” during 16-17, March, 2007 at the college premises. The practical sessions were conducted at the department of Computer Applications laboratory.
