The Alumni Association has carried out the following activities during the
academic year 2004-2005.

The Annual General-Body Meeting (AGM) of the Alumni Association for the year 2004 was held on September 25, 2004 at GRT Grand Days (Convention center). T. Nagar. About 400 Alumni members participated in the meeting.

The following are the important activities that took place during the Annual General Body meeting.

•  Mr. K. Bhaskar, President, welcomed the gathering, Dr. K.P. Mohammed, Principal delivered the Chief Guest address and requested the Alumni members to participate and interact with IIPC and EDP Cells and also informed about the 2 nd Decennial celebrations planned by the college.

•  Ms. G. Kavitha, General Secretary, presented the activities of the Association for the year 2003 - 2004. Mr. P.D. Jeyakumar, Treasurer, presented the financial report for the year 2003-04.

•  Alhaj. V.N.A Jalal, GM/AIIF shared his views with the members and requested for new initiatives such as prizes for university rank holders and he also informed about the new Convention center built in the college.

Alumni News Letter: The first issue of Alumni news letter was released by Alhaj. V.N.A. Jalal, GM/AIIF and the copies were distributed to all the members.

Alumni Website: Dr. K.P. Mohammed, Principal, launched the Alumni web site (Ver.1). Mr. P. Ramesh, Executive member presented the highlights of the website to the audience. Ms. Sharmila Shankar, Executive member designed and developed this website with the help of students.

Interaction Session: During the meet there was an interaction session with the members, and the members suggested the activities that can be taken up in the subsequent years.
Mr. Ali. Asgar Kachwalla, Vice President, proposed the vote of thanks.

•  Alumni Memento – 17 th Graduates' Day: On 17 th Graduates' Day a memento was presented to all the graduating students by the Alumni Association.

•  Sponsorship to National conference - CMTM 2005: Alumni Association sponsored an amount of Rs. 5,000/- for the National Conference on Competitive Manufacturing technology and Management for Global Marketing (CMTM 2005) conducted during 7 th and 8 th , January 2005.

•  Guest Lectures: Guest Lectures were handled by the alumni for the benefit of final year and pre-final year students on topics such as “Emerging Trends in Computer graphics” by Suresh Rangarajulu, Intel , USA , “Current Industrial scenario” by S. Manohar, HCL Technologies, Chennai and Mr. T. Sivakumar, Ibiguity , USA .

•  Alumni Appreciation Award: On the occasion of the 2nd Decennial celebrations of B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Engineering College, the Alumni Association has organized a programme, on 19th Dec. 2004, and honoured the faculty members (16 Teaching , 33 Non-Teaching ), with Appreciation Awards, for their valuable contribution and service to the students of our college since the first batch.

•  Alumni Scholarship scheme: To encourage the economically needy and academically deserving students the Alumni Association constituted an Alumni Scholarship scheme this year and 7 students from various depts. were awarded Alumni Scholarships.

•  Alumni Book Case: An Alumni book case with books sponsored by Association, donated by alumni was installed in the Main Library on general topic for exams such as GRE, GMAT, TOEFL and other competitive exams in the main library for the benefit of final year students.

•  Participation in NSS camp: Participated in NSS camp conducted by our college unit, and donated stationary and educational aids for Rs. 2,000/- to the Govt. High School , Kumizhi.
